Home Decorations for Fall!

By Rachel Bovey

With summer coming to an end I’m ready to say goodbye to hot and humid days and hello to cooler days! Autumn is one of my favorite seasons. Growing up in the Midwest I always look forward to the changing leaves and crispness in the air. Fall fever is definitely a thing and I'm a victim to it every year. Right when the weather begins to change I’m ready to break out my plaid shirt and favorite riding boots and take a hike in the woods. I love the warm aromas of ciders, pumpkin pie, apple orchards, and bonfires. Decorating for the season is very simple and can make your home a cozy place for when the temperatures begin to drop. Below is a roundup of the perfect accessories to decorate your house with this year!

Layer Up and Add a Blanket

As the air begins to cool and you wardrobe begins to change layering up is a must. Put blankets around the house to achieve a warm and cozy look. Not only do blankets look cozy, but they also serve a purpose of keeping you/your family/guests warm! Snuggling up in a soft blanket and reading a book is what I look forward to the most. If you’re unsure of what kind of blanket to decorate with plaid never goes out of style! Plaid wool blankets give off a warm cozy feel and are the perfect pattern for fall.

 Swap Candles

When the leaves start changing colors it’s a good idea to change up your candles! Swap out the summer breeze and floral scents and switch to pine and spice scents. A subtle woodsy smell screams autumn.
